What is Goodyear welted construction?
Known as the superior shoe construction for it's comfort, durability and water-resistance versus Blake stitched or Cemented construction. Durability is the key benefit with a Goodyear welted shoe. Although, it's a more expensive and labour intensive construction method, it's worth the time and cost. The sole isn't stitched direct to the insole, it's stitched to the welt. No other method uses a welt; where the first seam joins the welt, upper and insole and then a second seam joins the welt to the outsole.
What's the difference between our shoes and the ones I can buy in-store?
We re-defined quality shoe standards without the retail, brand or luxury markups. We offer direct-to-consumer online only and focus on quality. Not all shoes are created equal. Most shoes in the $150-$350 range will be cemented or blake stitched, use lower quality leathers, most won't be fully leather lined inside and most can't be resoled.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently only ship to Canada and U.S.
What is pre-order? Why do I have to wait so long?
Our model gives you the most saving and that was our goal. We only order a limited quantity. Quality Goodyear welted shoes take time to make and are worth the wait!
Where are your shoes made?
Our shoes are 100% made in England from start to finish and focus on quality, not mass production.
What kind of leather do you use?
We use calf and full grain leather from Zonta - Italy, C.F. Steads - England, Weinheimer - Germany and other smaller tanneries in France or Italy depending on the collection.
Where else can I buy your shoes?
You can only buy our shoes from our website. We do not wholesale and to give you the best price we have no middleman - it's direct to you.
Do you offer wider widths?
To keep production costs low, we currently only offer a standard fit (Medium width). Our British designed lasts have a generous fit versus Italian or Spanish styles.
Can I customize a pair of shoes?
No, at this time we only offer a ready-to-wear collection.
Where can I try them on or see in-person?
We currently have no retail store for you to try-on or see the shoes. Buying online takes away the stress of shopping in-person. No sales staff with attitude! Once there is enough interest, we will be holding trunk shows in various cities in North America.
How do they fit versus other brands?
Our classic round toe British designs are timeless. No narrow fitting, toe pinching, pointy or squared toed shoe designs. We've purposely designed for comfort which removes pressure points from the typical problem areas.
What shoe care products do you recommend?
We personally recommend using Saphir products from France. We have tested their ranges of shoe cream and polish on our shoes. Do not use Renovateur or Renomat on brand new shoes. These cleaners or conditioners are used to clean shoes with layers of shoe cream or polish.
